Time Out
05-20-2007, 09:04 PM
Left the dock at 7am headed North west 56 24 lots of boats not much bait and very little bird movement water is warmer outside 61.2 was the warmest

We set out one bait O matix and one Repala Marc hooked up first he was checking the Rep for grass the fish hit about half way in 2 hours later the reel failed the drag locked up I could see the leader when the line broke.

Just a reminder for anyone as stupid as I am 40lbs test is not what you troll for sharks with

About 30 min later we hooked and released a blue

Around 11 I hooked up ( on a reel the same as Marc was on 40lbs line Not smart)

3 hours later the drags got so hot it would not let line out we cooled the reel the best we could just about that time the Fish died with all my line out, about two hundred yards I could not raise the fish with the rod and reel the reel kept popping out of gear.

I decided to hand the rod to mark I put on a pair of gloves and started hand lining it in we took turns it took about 40 min 240 lbs T shark was on the step
Great day I don't think I would use a Penn 15 KG for sharks if you know what I mean.

Mike (No Slack) I cant believe it I needed a picture and you are no where to be found

The swim step is flexing like a diving board. Nice fish.
