We definitely picked the better of the two days to have our BBQ.
The fog was so thick at 8 am I couldn't see the bait barge when I entered the basin. Grabbed my normal half scoop and headed out the channel. The plan was to fish Point Loma Kelp but it was to foggy to safely find a sweet spot and anchor up.
Ended up making my way to the southern end of La Jolla were I found some hard bottom that looked like it might give up a few Reds. It was a slow pick on the Reds with 9 going in the box before the wind started to howl.
By noon It was blowing to hard to fish the bottom, so I moved into the beach off PB for an hours worth of bait washing. 12 oz of lead to hold the bottom in 40' and not a scratch on a bait drove me back to the bay to finish out the day.
I picked up one short halibut near the bridge before calling it a day.
