Great motor, I have a few friends with the D-6 the D-4 is the same with two less cylinders. It's clean, easy to work on. changing the oil is simple and easy. they are quiet and the new outdrive is bullet proof. You can up grade the horsepower with a chip from Volvo. The D-4 should push the billfisher 22-26knots easy with power left over. Joe

Thanks Joe:
Still debating on pulling the trigger. At 125K I would be in for the long haul. I wonder what the new price would be for the same boat. There is also a 29' for sale but it has Yanmars. I would hate to let my slip go in MDR, it's leased and the price has not been raised in some time.
Thanks

I'm not sure What 29 it is. I did see that the boat Yale bought is still listed on some sites. Where do you live? Just An FYI half of my outerbanks is for sale to the right person (Not my half) Hoping to get in with another fireman) My partner never uses the boat and wants out. 125 my be a little high for an 05 I think the last pacific coast sport fishing mag had them listed a 119 without electronics but I could be wrong. In the mean time if you want to fish the island let me know. Thanks Joe

Hey Joe:
I am in Mar Vista (just east of Venice). I am in a 40 hour position right now, Fire/Arson Investigator/ Film Industry Liaison at Culver City Fire. Taking the Captains exam in June. I have been on for 27 years now, but not yet 50 so retirement is still a fews years away. Maybe you can show me some seabass spots at Catalina. A local ER doc here has a mooring at Avalon that I can use anytime. I talked to RD Snyder this morning, the 29' is in King Harbor Redondo Beach. I am going to take a look at it this weekend.

$125 for a 2005 is at the high end of the range but not unreasonable. Hard to say what the economy has done to Blackman resale values but I would expect not affected them much.

Yale has a 32'and it has Cummins power. The 29 in HB is in great shape from what I hear the current owner doesn't have much work going on and the toys are the first thing to go. i didn't hear what the price was though.

The Patron is a 2003 26’ Billfisher powered with an AD41 Volvo. I’m asking $90,000. The boat is loaded. The lower unit was new in 2006, the Master volt 3.5KW Generator new in 2005 and the triple axle Pacific trailer new in 2004. This is the best one on the market in terms of bang for the buck.

Yale, maybe I can take a look next week? As for the 29' it's in King Harbor, Redondo Beach. Looks like it's low hours 250. Going to look this weekend, listed at $195K.
Thanks

Mike, I bet Yale's boat would be sweet. He keeps his stuff nice. I Think 125 is a little high for an 05. But that D-4 is super nice. On the flip side I really want a gen-set like Yale Has. Sure would be nice. 90'gs is a hell of a good price. Joe

I should have her ready to show by the end of the week. I had her detailed a couple of weeks ago and now I’m doing cabin clean up and checking everything out. I’ll pm you by Wednesday.

I agree Joe, I am also looking at a Davis Rock Harbor fully loaded. Problem is the wife REALLY likes the Davis. Nice boat but I have always had an issues with the raised engine hatch. I guess thats why I haved owned (2) Blackmans, the first a 26' Expess and the second a Billfisher. Decision time.
Thanks again for the input.

Davis BOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! All joking aside the are very nice boats, The raised engine hatch dose suck and the are lacking on deck space if you put a bait tank on deck.
