Can I pick a day to fish or what? If you like wind, rain and suicidal halibut, it wasn't a bad morning.
I had the day off to sleep in and get my internal clock geared up for working a weeks worth of 12 hour night shifts starting tonight. So much for getting some rest.
Up at 5 to load the boat and on the water by 6:30. Had 2 in the box before 8am and stuck a third on ice by 10am. By noon the bay is full blow whitecaps and starting to fill with kelp so I packed it in and headed home.
Over the 5 hours I fished, I averaged 4 halibut an hour with 3 being big enough to come home for dinner.
