8 Halibut, 3 salmon, 1 ling, 7 rock fish. (53lb Halibut).

Next day fishing was on the 8th, wind was an issue so made it a short day, only a couple 15 lb halibut, a few salmon and rock rock fish.

On the 10th we changed the crew and went out for salmon and halibut and landed a 26lb salmon.

That's a hell of a road trip Andy. You guys really went the extra mile to score some quality fish. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you were bit outside the tournament boundaries.

Rule 4: The boundaries will be the California/Oregon border to the North and to the 30 degree line South of Point Loma.

We originally set the rules like that because that's the area we were all fishing. Now that guys like you and Yale are taking it to a whole new level and traveling much farther with your boats, we might want to restructure the rule to acknowledge the extra effort you guys are putting in.

Looks like an awesome trip, thanks for the report!
Did you catch the salmon on the troll, rockfish on bait, and did you have a guide or just know where to go? What did you get your butts on?

What an adventure. That is one nice mess of good eats you've got there. You guys should be eating on that for a while. You guys have raised the bar on travel trips. Nice job. The boat looks good amongst that clean Alaskan air and northern fish species. After an adventure like that I know tournament points (or lack of) don't even make a difference. You guys scored!

No points :( Guess i should have re-read the rules. :o

Sounds like a topic for the BBQ.

The Salmon were all caught on Troll using Anchovie FBR's, Apex's and Croc's.
The halibut, Lings and rocks were caught using Macrel and Berkley Power bait.

The two big halibut were caught on berkley power bait.

We did not have a guide, just talked to a few skipers down at the Marina that gave us a heading and range then we worked that area for about 45 min till we found the honey hole and loaded up.

Very Interesting! What kind of depths were you fishing?
