Used this setup to retrive the anchor is about 250 feet of water. Maybe 400 feet of 1/2 line, 40 feet of chain, and a 40 lb Bruce anchor. Snapped the ball on the line and plucked the anchor and chain off the bottom. The boat had no winch. The heave ho got everything on the deck. Actually not bad considering the weather, seas, and the size of the ground gear. An alternative to the anchor winch on a small boat.
West Marine has a complete set up. I went piece meal from different sources. Why do it the easy way plus I got a lime green ball! :D :D
(Tried to post the photo direct but the file (50kb) to large (39kb max). Any tricks?? Any way to get the Moment of Fame to display directly without having to go to the site??
