Day on the water 8/27

10 yellowtail,3 dorado,5yellowfin.hooked something big while throwing iron. Just sat there on 40lb. Could only get a few inches of line at a time. After 20 mins or so it spit the hook(bent it). We were thinking it was an opah. As it didn't want to move but did not really fight. Lost a skippy to a huge mako bit a 10lb fish clean in half. Then hooked a large shark that broke me off after a few mins.did get to see it though.all in all not a bad day on the water.heading back out tonight.

Sounds like some good fishing. What size were the yellowfin and what area were you working? Any particular bait or lures?

Yes, that was where we went. We got 15 yellowfin,3dorado. Had 3 greenies on board so it was a lot of farming and such,should of had easy limits.
