I had a oil leak at the breather so I sealed it up until I can replace it.

After testing I noticed I still have a leak at the device next to it.

I removed the cap cleaned but did not notice any type of gasket.

Should there be a gasket?

By the way what is it?

How often are you changing the breather? I think they are suppose to be changed ever 200 hours. If it gets fouled up with oil it might let the crankcase pressure rise and the little cap to the right might be there to relieve the extra pressure.

I wash my breathers in a parts washer instead of replacing them.

EDIT: I did some research and the part to the right has a spring and disc in it, so I assume it's a high crank case pressure relief. If a new breather filter doesn't fix the problem, it could be a turbo seal issue or piston rings, How's the engine performing? plenty of power, no black smoke when you throttle up?

Mike, I appreciate your imput in this matter.

The engine runs fine but it never has been fast but I cruise at 15kt to 16kt. It doesnt smoke at all.

I change the breather every year and I dont run more than 200 hours a year. Maybe the part is just worn out?
