Headed out to the 390 at 0200 Sunday and started trolling at 0630. At 0900 it was clear nothing was happening so we pulled up and headed toward the E. Butterfly. On the way we spotted 6 sporties - all sitting. So we dropped a couple of lines and got hooked within 2 minutes. We got strikes from 10:00 to 1400. A jig strike here, and another there. Sometimes doubles and an occasional bait fish. Talk about dumb, I dropped one overboard while trying to put it in the kill bag! Total count: 11 with the largest around 15lb. Got back in at 1800. Too tired to fillet that night.

We covered an area about 5 miles due east of the EB to about 10 miles southeast. Hard to miss, it was a large area. I know Charlie went out there today.

Good call getting out on the 4th before Charlie got on scene and shut down the bite. ;)

Did ya hear of any big fish being caught in the area? We ran into a lot of small fish as well last week. I would like to know were the #35-40 are hanging out.

I went down to my boat this afternoon and it wouldn't start. Russ what was on your hands?

I've heard of some large albies being caught. We caught the two bigger ones (15 to 18) early. The rest of the day they ran about 8 -12. We're going to head back out this Saturday, I'm just now sure where. Anyone hear anything going on at the 1010?

I think the trick is to find out what day Charlie plans on fishing....then go out the day before!

It's just not the same not having Russ down there.

It looks like a new batch of fish moving up through the 1010, 213 area on 7/7. If they take the same course as the last 2 bunches, look for them to move 5 NW every day. Could very well be going off at the 390 by the weekend.
