Ticketed for Obstructing a Navigable Waterway????

Last January I was ticketed for Obstructing a navigable waterway with a lobster trap which drifted into the channel. I signed the infraction ticket but this ticket has since been upgraded to a misdemeaner, which is a much bigger deal. If anyone has been through this before or has any knowledge of this type of issue please contact me.

Is there a case number. I have a friend in the DA's office in LA that can look it up and give you more information (maybe).
