Question, sending a all DSC trans, give info

Just got a private message from Mike with the Royal Hook for his mmsi info. Just wondering if I sent a all vessels transmission, woud this give out my mmsi number to all vessels with there radios on. Then they would only have to enter my name into there radio. Just thinking it would be a fast way to give your info with other fisherman. Mike (No Slack)What do you think?

I think "All Ships" means everyone with a MMSI radio that is on. Use that when you want to notify everyone of a Nav hazard like a log floating. They will get you MMSI numbers and position but I don't thing they will get your boat name.

Exactly what I was thinking. It is like calling someone on your cell phone and save as a contact. I am going to give it a try with someone I know that is on the water when I am.
