Looking for a parts source before I go off to the highest rate parts places.
I need a "new" starter for my KAD 300 and a torque plate as well, Does anyone know the better route to aquire these items?

If you do ebay, look there. Lots of parts shops have new stuff there. Your starter can be had for $250-$280 and if you're look for the drive damper plate, there is a new one on there for $370. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Drive-Damper-for-Volvo-Penta-Diesel-TAMD41-26-Spline-855617-7-/231022593842?pt=Boat_Parts_Accessories_Gear&hash=item35ca050732&vxp=mtr

I believe the starter is a VALEO D9R116, I bought one from a truck electrical supply shop for less that $200 a few years back. That's a very popular starter for a diesel engine.

Hola, does anyone know the owner of UNO mas?
Billy v diagnosed my power steering unit as being trashed and mentioned the uno mas owner sells Volvo parts...
If not I will get in touch with admiralty or cogs well.
Thank you.david

Are you talking about the Green Striped 26' at Marina Village with Twin D3s?

If so that's Jeff Winters, of E.W. Trucks off Federal in San
Diego

I've known the family for 35 years, he's a great guy.

I'm a little confused however, other than the newer D3s-D6s I didn't think Volvo had power steering pumps on their AD41s

Definitely a belt driven power steering pump, port side up forward. The bearing is toasted, pulley has a wobble, and its was making a lot of noise. Oil was near empty.

here is a link to the parts break down page. http://www.marinepartsexpress.com/vp_sch_fs.html From there select diesel, scroll down to KAD32P_TAMD42WJ_KAD43P-44P-300/ then select steering.

ps..most of the oil found it's way to the bilge.
6 oil absorb rags to clean it out.

Did you call HAZMAT to remove the rags?
