Hi all ,
New member here.
A very nice gentleman (Warren) a couple of doors down on the Dean Marlin informed me of your site.
Very informative and has already answered a few of my questions as I learn the boat.
Hustler from BD's bought it for a quick turn and I ended up with it.
The prior owner (for yrs) was a Fisherman out of Oceanside who ran into some health problems.
It seems as he enjoyed many years of great times and memories on the ocean with his family.
I plan to have great times and make some memories of my own.
Appreciate all the information and hope to meet some of you.
Best of luck,David

I also fished out of San diego, what boats were you on. I fished for about 2 years in 1964 on the Sun Jason and the Historic and again from around 1980 to 1986. Queen Mary, Trinadad, Finisterre, Anne M. and Bettie M. Was on the Bettie M. when it went aground in the Columbia River. Maybe I know you . TTYL.

Hi Al Gagnon,
those were great days.1975 through 1981-82.
Lucky Strike with the Magellons ..during the strike when the whole fleet circled SD bay in protest of the regulations.
Sea Hawk with Johnny Dutra for several years. Great guy, drove his Mercedes off of Sunset Cliffs.
Uncle Louie with Pedro Garces and the Castagnolas.. we caught a lot of fish.
I quit when all the boats were going to Samoa and way the hell down there and no one ever came home.
It really is a shame we lost that industry.
The American boats were really the only ones that tried everything to protect the porpoise.
Hope to meet you down there.David ( not Portuguese) ;o)

Yes David those were good times. I never did well ($$$$) on the boats but I was single so it did not matter too much. Glad I got out and went to work for the City of San Diego. I now have a excellant retirement. Keep in touch. I am still doing some major renovation on my deck. Did some work on it about 6 years ago when I bought the boat and did not do it right. I feel very comfortable with doing the fiberglass installation now. Should be done putting down the gel coat this coming week. I have to get out of my drive way or Im going to go nuts. Will TTYL. Al

Thank you Charlie.
Met Jeff the other day. Dog house..
I agree. Seems like a lot of good people that love fishing and boating.
Maybe not in that order.
Regards, David

Hola, been working on the cooling system with John Bensons help.
John rebuilt the fresh water pump.Needed the housing on the oil cooler welded up.
Ramon at Chingon touched it up quickly and professionally . Great job, great price and quick.
Ace Radiator is putting it back together and hopefully I'll get it back in the water by next weekend.
I knew it needed maintenence but was hoping I could get some fishing in first.
Kind of stuff I don't mind doing...just after the season................
