First day of the 2005 BOCA tournament and I was on fire.
First stop was the secret rock off Torrey Pines for some Reds. Every drop they were getting a little bigger until the bacaccio showed up. One is the limit so I had to pull off the spot with 15 points on the board.
Next stop was along the beach south of the state beach. First bait down produces a WSB. Next one down is a calico, then the bonita move in and snatched every bait that hit the water. It didn't take long for me to get my fill of that action, so I move on.
Stop number 3 was off Scripps pier to look for halibut. First drift and I'm on.
The only way today could have been any better, if the calico, halibut and WSB were of legal size. Day one is in the book with only 15 points to show for my effort.
