My Bro in-law, my friend Loran and I hit the rocks off Torry Pines today for a real mixed bag of rockfish.
3 big Bocaccio, 12 Vermillion, 3 or 4 Starry, a couple greenspot, 1 bank rockfish and a new entry for my photo log.
Flag rockfish. we picked up 5 of them today.

Pretty rockfish. What is the secret to such nice pictures Mike?

Mike - Allow me to respond to this question.
The real trick to such nice pictures is getting the fish to "Strike" a pose!
;)
Great job Mike

Brian has hit the nail on the head. Mike knows how to talk fish language as evidenced in his ability to command the fish to eat his baits when they won't eat anyone else's. Mike coaxed this fish into smiling for the camera. Beautiful fish Mike.

It took me about 5 years to figuare out that 3 feet is the perfect focus length for my cheapo digital camera. Using a light background like the engine box cushion, really helps bring out the colors in the photos.
Now that I think about it, it took me 5 years to figuare out the lobster, and for the past 4 years I've been grabbing Lingcod by the lip, sure hope sometime in the next year I figuare out why my thumb hurts after doing that  .
