The weatherman didn't miss it by much today. I never saw the 20-30 knot NE winds they were calling for but the steady 15 was enough to keep me close to the bay.
Made a few drifts off the Del for nothing then I ventured out to the Whistler to check out the conditions outside. Plenty of wind and slop out that way made me glad I didn't run down to the upper finger for some Reds.
After one quick drop outside the Whistler for a Calico, I beat it back to the bay to hide from the wind.
Back in the bay I found the area around the bait barge was loaded with Sandies and Bonita, but the seals had figured that out too. After a few good battles with the seals I moved deeper into the bay for some action on the Spotties and some more Bonita.
Called it a day at 11am when the wind started kicking up closer to the 20 they were predicting.
Mike
Not a total waist of a mornig, I'll take 10 points in the Calico slot for this #1.9 fish.
