Fished at LJ kelp yesterday afternoon. Great mix of big dinos and small to medium size mackies. Several boats anchored, drifting, and slow trolling there including 4 charter boats. Didn't see many hookups. Water was green and ranged from 64-68 degrees. Very little current. Lots of birds and bait. Lots of meter marks which looked like bait balls and bigger fish throughout the column. We only managed one cuda on the surface iron. Saw a big yellowtail boil within casting range but, they would't eat a sardine or mackerel even on straight 20lb line. Had a big yellow follow a mack to the boat then turn away. Drifted outside the Crystal pier in 60' of water in hopes of halibut. No luck. The fish are there but, just didn't want to eat a bait with a hook in it. I did hear of somebody nailing a thresher by the WEAX bouy.

Have a good weekend,
Scott
