I'll save you from embarrassing yourself by hanging on of these on the scale at the fuel dock.
Molas don't count as a wild card fish. If you enter it, you better eat it and I'm not eating Mola/parasite stew at the fall BBQ.

What about the hard fighting sporty blue shark?

Last fall we addad the wildcard fish and stated the rule to be
"Wildcard entry, any fish not on the list, excluding skates, rays or sharks and weighing greater than 25 pounds."
After reading on Bloody Decks about a couple of guys that hooked one on a dean and brought it aboard for a photo shoot, It made me think that would be a lame way for someone to score 400-500 points and take home the tournament jacket. So let's keep game fish in our minds as we fish this tournament.

Mike,
When was the post on BD, I saw one about an Opah a couple of weeks go but not a mola.
You won't need a GPS to find the 302 this weekend, just follow the prop wash as my buddy found a paddy holding 4 nm past the lower nine for limits and saw 5 sporties and DOZENS of skiffs headed that way this morning @8AM:(

I found a thread that references the Mola thread being removed, so the original is gone.
Looks like a good weekend to hit the halibut and leave the local banks to the bumble bee fleet.

I vote for the ability of the "rules committee” to adjust interim (new) rules to make the tournament "fair".

I wouldn't find it very sporting to try to get points by catching a Mola. Good rule update.
