Eliminated the last weak link in the tow package. Pushed "Old Rusty" out of the driveway and backed this 2000 Power Stroke up to the trailer today.
Ready to go long, as in Morro Bay and points north.

Like I said today at the shop, let's do the Moss Landing Salmon Opener next March, Bodega for Crab/Salmon/Abalone/more rockfish and lings then you can imagine, and Morro. Count me in.
Grats on the new tow monster.
And thanks for lending me the tools last week.

So tell me Mike what is your first impression of the PSD over the previous 6.9 non turbo model? Doesn't just make you want to hook the trailer up and see how fast you can make it up the grade on 163 heading north from Mission Valley? It's a GREAT feeling!

Congrats Mike. The PSDs are great tow vehicles. I'll bet its a whole new feel going down the road.
Be careful your getting dangerously close to that point where your tow vehicle looks better than your boat....nah, that'l never happen!

2WD or 4WD?? Depending on the ramp and tide, it can be pucker time retriving the boat. I put a 400lb concrete slab in the box to soften the ride and add traction to the drive wheels. Love that OT!!......rt

This one is a 2WD with a limited slip 4:10 rear end. I only used my 4WD on very low tides and not sure I really needed it then. Time will tell if I need to find some more fat friends to fish with.
A couple of 300 pounders sitting on the tail gate should get the job done.

Congrats on the new sled. Hope you have better luck than I have with the PSD. I'm up to about $36,000 in warrantee work on a 2004. My number one fishing buddy is on his fifth one and all is good for him and he tortures them. The 2wd is good for most of the San Diego ramps. Do not try the Marina Coral ramp or the Paradise Village ramp in Puerto Vallarta even if you get the two 300# fishing buddys. Both of those ramps are mandatory 4wd.

Very nice Mike! I love my 2003 7.3! Let me know when you go North. I would be interested in tagging along.
