12/29 Birthday Bassin

To cold to get up early and look for the squid so I did a mid morning plastics tossing trip.

Not red hot fishing but enough Calicos to keep you interested. Fished the green tank area off Pt Loma and a little further south.

The highlight of the day was adding a new fish to my fish ID prodject and stopping by SquidCo to pick myself out something shinny (Daiwa Sealine X40HA)

Christmas is Christmas, and my birthday is my birthday. You can't lump them together when giving gifts. ;) That's my rule and I'm stickin to it.

I think the time is right for the Yellows. If you work the same drill as last December, it could pay off big time. The bad thin about this year is the strong east wind that blows from midnight until 8am. I couldn't hold over a spot of bait long enough to work it last week.

Yours is 4 days after, mine is 3 days before, I know what you mean!
T-minus 346 and counting for my 50, I hope I make it! How was the ocean, it looks like the swell is coming down.

The swell wasn't bad but that 12 knot east wind for the first 3 hours of the day is getting old. In the last two weeks the mornings were blown out and the days don't get nice until 10 or so.
