April 3 IB
Made my first run of the spring down to IB. The area looked good with clean water, a little down hill current and some birds working the outer kelp. Like all trips to IB, you never know what the day will bring. Five minute in, I'm bit and scrambling to get the boat started as the spool on my little halibut rig is losing line fast.

Manage one halibut at 25" before the wind came up to early.

Yeah I saw that.
I don't have one and have never thrown one either, but maybe I could borrow my sons.
You thinking about chasing those things around? Looks like you need someone on the bow ready to fire into them.

I'm sure I'll be out there sooner or later. Rain this weekend, working next weekend and the weekend after that should be close to the full moon. That might be the time to go.
