Some of you may have tried cedar plank salmon when in the Northwest and know how good it is. Well, I ordered a cedar plank and got it this week
(http://www.kitchenkaboodle.com/image...token=77596134 for $39.95)
Cooked up a troll caught salmon and it was fabulous. Used the following dry rub of spices (these are all dried spices from the jar)
1 Teaspoon lemon pepper
2 Tablespoons brown sugar
1 Tablespoon paprica
1 Teaspoon tarragon
1 Teaspoon dried basil
1 Teaspoon granulated garlic (don't use powdered, to strong)
1 Teaspoon course Salt
Mixed the above for 30 seconds or so in a food processor.
Rub liberally onto both sides of the fillet and put fillets on a pre heated cedar plank 8-12 minutes a side depending on the thickness of the fillet. Test as usual for doneness.
When done, dab a bit of melted butter on the fillets (you can delete if you want it low fat)
The house smelled great from the cedar roasting in the oven and the fish was awesome!
